Police planned DUI crackdown for St. Patrick?s day

South Carolinians enjoy engaging in all sorts of public festivities. Such gatherings always provide the opportunity to share time with old friends and meet new friends. In such times, there is nothing wrong with having a drink or two to make the celebration that much more fun. In fact, in the case of St. Patrick’s Day, having a pint or two of green beer is part of the revelry. And while St. Patrick’s day has come and gone for another year, some people may still be feeling the effects of having been part of the party. This is because South Carolina law enforcement officials enacted a plan to crack down on drunk driving. State troopers and police stated that they would be on the lookout for those driving under the influence during the holiday.

Given the circumstances, it would be all too easy for a St. Patrick?s Day party goer to be pulled over and arrested for DUI. However, just because someone is placed under arrest for DUI does not necessarily mean he or she will be convicted. For example, if it can be proven that a Breathalyzer test was performed incorrectly, then the case may be dismissed.

If you are ever arrested for DUI, you may want to seriously consider your possible defense options. This is because a drunk driving conviction can lead to a number of unpleasant penalties. These penalties can include fines, jail time and the loss of driving privileges. All of these can negatively impact your life in both the present and the future.

A South Carolina DUI attorney may prove of service when planning a defense against drunk driving charges. The attorney could look at the video of your arrest and may be able to determine how to get you your best possible outcome.
