Under South Carolina law, drivers below the legal drinking age are subject to the “zero tolerance” blood alcohol threshold — basically any alcohol in one’s system at the time of arrest.
- A zero-tolerance offense (.02 BAC or greater) carries an automatic license suspension of three months.
- Underage drivers with a BAC of .08 or greater are subject to the same DUI penalties that any adult would face.
