Man arrested in connection with shooting

In South Carolina, it is a well-known fact that criminal charges can dramatically affect your life, especially if you are young. A conviction does even more damage, leaving a permanent mark on your record and affecting your chances of employment, college and even getting a loan. As a result, if you have been charged with a crime, it is important to plan your next steps carefully. This can be the difference between a guilty verdict and walking free after your trial.

In one such case, a 19-year-old man has been arrested following a shooting at a Marlboro County nightclub. The young man was picked up by Rockingham police three days after the event occurred, although at the time the charges were related to marijuana. He was later arrested on suspicion of involvement in the shooting, once deputies from Marlboro County were able to obtain the necessary warrants.

All five victims have since been released from the hospital and medical center where they received treatment. However, the man arrested now faces charges relating to the possession of a firearm, as well as assault and battery. If convicted, he could face a lengthy prison sentence and hefty fines. Investigators are now attempting to determine whether there were other people involved in the incident.

The future may feel quite uncertain for this 19-year-old, as a conviction would turn his life upside-down. As such, he might benefit from a solid defense and the guidance of an attorney. It is difficult to navigate the legal process without support, but your attorney can answer your questions and help you prepare for your trial. With this advice, you can work toward securing a lighter sentence or perhaps escaping conviction altogether.
