Man arrested in South Carolina for alleged drug sales

Being investigated in relation with drug crimes is rarely good news. The penalties for any form of drug crime, whether it is possession, distribution or even manufacture of illegal substances are often severe. Even so, many people in South Carolina still turn to drug trafficking in order to make the money they need to survive.

Recently, a 24-year-old man was arrested in South Carolina for the alleged possession and sale of a controlled substance. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the accused had sold morphine to someone else. Following his arrest, the young man was extradited to New York.

A conviction could have especially serious consequences as is often the case in drug-related crimes. One mark on your record could severely affect not only your employment prospects but even the places you’re allowed to live. Furthermore, you could lose any professional licenses or even your driver’s license.

The penalties for drug-related crimes are often extremely harsh, even in low scale incidents. However, even if you are under investigation, it is important to remember that you are innocent unless you can be proven to be guilty beyond all reasonable doubt.

An attorney may be able to support you at the difficult time and advise you on the options available to you. He or she may also be able to assist you in forming your defense and ensuring that your side of the story is heard by the court. With the right guidance you may be able to avoid conviction and protect your future.
